Melinda Allen, Executive DirectorMelinda Allen

Melinda Allen has served as Executive Director of Leadership Development Programs for the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University for going on seven years. In that role, she has led the effort to build this program into the exciting and highly differentiated program it is today. Prior to that, Melinda served for nine years in Admissions and Career Management roles at both Owen and Goizueta Business School at Emory University; making a total of 16 years that she has worked with graduate business students and the corporate community that hires them. While she has held several other roles outside of Academia, the most exciting was as a Staffing Manager during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where she recruited, trained, and retained almost 1,400 contractors, volunteers and staff members across 40 non-competition venues. Allen holds a bachelor of science from Emory University and a master of science in human resource development from Georgia State University, as well as a certification in Human and Organizational Development from the University of Georgia.

Amy LambertAmy Lambert

Amy Lambert spent the first four years of her career working in public accounting/auditing and obtained a CPA license in Kentucky during that time of practice. Following a year as an assistant controller in a manufacturing plant, Amy enrolled in the Vanderbilt MBA program specifically to change careers and work in the field of leadership development and human resources. With a concentration in Human and Organizational Performance, Amy navigated her career change and followed her Owen education with five years at a leading Nashville hospitality company managing human resources projects, which ultimately culminated in her role as Director of Talent Management. In her director role, Amy oversaw succession planning, performance management, and high-potential leadership development for the company's more than 10,000 employees. Amy rejoined the Vanderbilt MBA team in 2010 to work with the Leadership Development Program (LDP), where she now provides LDP services and support to students in the Master of Accounting, Master of Finance, and MBA programs. Amy enjoys writing creative nonfiction and small group Bible studies, watching Kentucky basketball, being commissioner of a fantasy football league, and spending time with her husband, two cats and basset hound.

Emiko BaldwinEmiko Baldwin

Emiko Baldwin joined Owen’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) team in 2012. Prior to joining Owen, Emiko was with Boston Scientific, a global medical device company, for almost ten years in various Talent Management roles until 2007 after which she took a short hiatus from the professional world to raise her son. She began her career with Boston Scientific in recruiting MBA students for its International Division and managed the summer internship program. Emiko was then sent to Boston Scientific’s Japan headquarter office for a two year expatriate assignment in Human Resources where she was instrumental in building a Leadership Development Program as part of that organization’s succession planning process. Upon return to the United States, she oversaw the West Region Learning & Development function, providing services for two distinct business units which encompassed employees across all functions, including sales, operations and R&D. Throughout her career, Emiko has always carried a global perspective having been raised in two cultures and has enjoyed playing a part in growing organizations. When she is not at Owen, she enjoys spending time playing tennis, discovering new restaurants in Nashville as well as being with her husband, son and Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Laura WrightLaura Wright

Laura joined Owen’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) in May 2017. Prior to joining the LDP team, Laura spent 6 years at Tivity Health (formerly Healthways) where she worked on leadership development, internal communications and talent acquisition. In her last two years at Tivity Health, she focused on change management. This included helping colleagues lead as change agents, specifically related to rolling out enterprise-wide initiatives, managing through a CEO transition and navigating the sale of the Total Health Population Business and Emerging Businesses to Sharecare. Receiving a Master’s Degree from Peabody in Organizational Leadership allowed Laura to shift her career focus to human resources and leadership development. Prior to her Masters, Laura worked to publish a whitepaper at the Institute for Workplace Innovation with the University of Kentucky, and in marketing and public relations at Hogan Lovells and Qorvis Communications in Washington, DC. Laura enjoys taking trips with family, patio time, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats (mostly basketball), and spending time with her husband.
